A calculated member that is not included in a security condition can still be requested by the user when viewing an OLAP cube when using SAS^® 9.1. If the members used in the calculation are secured, the user will see only the result based on the applied security.

For example, a calculated member, "Countries", is defined as AGGREGATE([Geography].[Geography].[Country].members). The cube in which the calculated member is defined has the following security condition applied:

  {DESCENDANTS([Geography].[Geography].[All Geography].[CANADA])}

The user can still access the "Countries" member, but the resulting calculation will be based only on the values available for the "Canada" member.

A corrected security expression for use in SAS 9.2 is shown below:

  {[Geography].[Geography].[All Geography].[Countries],
   DESCENDANTS([Geography].[Geography].[All Geography].[CANADA])}
